introducing floral sketches & calligraphy classics

Welcome to day 2 of the Papertrey Ink May release countdown! Today is a group post day and we are all sharing projects created with the Floral Sketches and Classic Calligraphy sets. One of my projects features a sentiment from my new Walk By Faith set.

All of the new stamps sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on May 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.

I did some browsing through my Pinterest boards to find a little color inspiration for today's projects and this is what I picked to use...

And here are the projects that I created using the color inspiration. Both projects have a sort of vintage fabric feel to them.

I stamped up a garden of the flowers from the Floral Sketches set here. Whenever I stamp up an arrangement like this I start with the biggest images and then work my way down. I stamped the sentiment first in a waterproof black ink because I did a little bit of spritzing with the solid floral bases before I stamped them onto the cardstock and I didn't want then black ink to smear/run.

For the stamping, I started with the Ocean Tides flowers, then added the purple flowers, then the leaves, and then the tiny flowers that fill in the open spaces. I love how the scene comes to life as the different colors and detail images are added.

For this card, I embossed the detail images for the flowers in a clear embossing powder first and then stamped the solid bases over them for an emboss resist effect.

I added a sentiment from my new Walk By Faith set to this card along with a small cross image that is also a part of the set.
