introducing woodblock prints

Welcome to day 3 of the Papertrey Ink June release countdown. Today is a group post and we are all sharing projects made with the new Woodblock Prints set, patterned papers, and stencils.

All you need to do is search for "Indian woodblock prints" on Pinterest and you will find so many beautiful examples and inspiration! I love the beautiful rustic style of these woodblock images and I love the inspiration of layers, patterns, and color that come with exploring the culture of India.

All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on June 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.

For this first card, I used the stamps to create patterns and texture on this card. For the strip on the left, I embossed one of the woodblock images onto kraft cardstock and then did the batik technique that includes wrinkling the cardstock and adding color. I also stamped some more images over the inked & embossed cardstock with Fresh Snow ink.

I stamped a neutral colored pattern on the white cardstock base and added the sentiment using the Scripted set. In between the stamped cardstock pieces is a strip of the Woodblock Prints patterned paper. A few sequins around the sentiment were the perfect touch to finish off this card.

On this next card, I used the Woodblock Prints patterned paper to create this paper quilt panel on the kraft cardstock base. I punched out squares of all of the different papers and arranged the squares into 3 lines until I was happy with the arrangement/look.

I added a stamped border with Fresh Snow ink above and below the quilted section using an image from the Woodblock Prints set. The sentiment is the "thanks" from the Swoosh set. I love the color and texture of this finished card!

And finally, I used the Woodblock Prints stencils to create this set of tags. I stenciled the largest design onto white cardstock with Fine Linen ink and then cut out a set of threes tags with the Minute to Make: Holiday Tags dies.

I added the border on the bottom of the tags with the smaller all over patterned stencil with Hawaiian Shores ink and then added a little strip of the Woodblock Prints patterned paper stitched to the very bottom on the tag. It was the perfect extra little pop of color. The "to" & "from" on the tags are from the new Keep it Simple: To & From set that is debuting this month.
