Welcome to day 4 of the Papertrey Ink July release countdown. Today is a group post day and we have some Summer Inspirations to share with you! I also have some more to share with my new Traveler's Journal collection.
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on July 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.
When it's summertime, all things tropical is a theme that comes to mind. Can you get tropical with kraft cardstock? I definitely took a chance to make that happen with the cards that I am sharing today.
First up is this card that I stamped with the Some Like it Hot set. Normally when you stamp color on kraft it mutes it a bit so make the colors pop a bit more on the kraft cardstock, I stamped the base images of the flowers and flamingo with Fresh Snow ink and after that was dry I stamped the color on top of that.
I really love the images in the new Some Like it Hot set. That flamingo is so much fun and the hibiscus flowers all stamped up are just show stoppers. I love when images just come to life as you add the different stamped layers. I kept this card just one layer (a challenge for me for sure) and added the "I think you're amazing" sentiment from the new It's the Thought set.
I used the same technique of stamping images with Fresh Snow ink first on the kraft cardstock base for this card that I created with the new Tropics set. After the Fresh Snow ink was dry, I added the colored stamping on top of that. The bit of white ink that you can see around the images really gives everything a bit of dimension too.
The white flowers sprinkled around the leaves are from the Some Like it Hot set. You might have noticed these same flowers sprinkled around in Fresh Snow ink on the flaming card too. I added the "congrats" sentiment onto the notched banner Keep it Simple: Frames die to finish off the card.
Do you think I was successful in making kraft cardstock tropical? I am pretty happy with the results!
I have a few more pages/spreads of my first book to share with you (the one with "adventure" on the cover) that I put together with my new Traveler's Journal collection.
Here, I added some photos and a bit of journaling from our visit to Boothbay Harbor in Maine. You will recognize the geo mark die cut, the "happy place" ticket embellishment that I shared on the first day of the countdown was a perfect touch, and some faux washi tape holding the journaling in place. I also added some stamping on the border of one of the pages using an adventure sentiment and the striped border image.
Next is a simple page of photos and I did the layout and details like I shared with you in the lighthouse book yesterday.
And another page with a photo and a journal list of some of the places that we stopped along the way on our road trip. I added in the "see the world" tag that I shared at the beginning of the countdown. I can't say enough again how nice it is to have some remade embellishments just made up so I can just grab them quick and add them to a page in my notebook.
Tomorrow is going to be a big day for learning more about the Traveler's Journal collection and so I hope that you stop by to check it out. I am excited to share it all with you!
You can see more new products being debuted today for the July release over at Nichole's blog. From there you can link up to other members of the design team who have new things to share with you today too!
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I will be back very soon with more to share!
