Welcome to day 5 of the Papertrey Ink September release countdown. Today is a group post day and we are sharing projects that are inspiration for trimming the tree for the holidays, ornaments to hang on the actual tree and ornaments to "hang" on your paper craft projects. I incorporated my new set Christmas Faith into the card projects that I am sharing today.
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on September 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.
For this card, I "hung" ornaments created with the What the Doodle: Ornament set and coordinating dies from a branch. I made the branch by stamping the "Christmas" word from the new Holiday Swoosh set in Cocoa Bean and then adding pine sprig details and berries from the Christmas Faith set.
I used a needle to pierce holes to thread the Rustic Jute button twine through for the ornament strings. The little starburst image that is stamped in Fresh Snow ink around the ornaments is from the What the Doodle: Ornament set.
The ornaments that I "hung" on this card are from the new Vintage Ornaments II set. I stamped the ornaments in Olive Twist, Pure Poppy, and Stormy Seas inks and then to hang them I used my sewing machine to stitch a line with some metallic thread. I added a little more sparkle to the ornaments with some rhinestones on each one. The snowflakes stamped around the ornaments Fresh Snow ink are from the Christmas Faith set.
The sentiment on the card is from the new Keep it Simple: Happy Holidays set. I cut the stamp into two pieces to make it easy to stamp in two rows versus one line. There's a strip of glitter stripe paper at the bottom the card front that you might recognize from a few other projects from the countdown. It was the perfect finishing touch for this card.
And finally, and actual ornament to hang on the tree. There's a great new addition for the Stitched Car dies this month: the Stitched Car Tree dies that you can attach right to the top of the car. So fun!
When I did my stitching, I added in a metallic thread with the embroidery floss just to give the overall car a bit of shimmer. I punched a hole at the top of the car, added an eyelet for strength, and tied a length of Rustic Jute button twine through it so it is ready to hang from the tree.
You can see more new products being debuted today for the September release over at Nichole's blog. From there you can link up to other members of the design team who have new things to share with you today too!
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I will be back very soon with more to share!
