invitation inspiration
November 14, 2016
Hi everyone and welcome to day 5 of the Papertrey Ink November release countdown. Today is a group post day and we are all sharing birthday invitations that cover a wide variety of themes. I am sharing an invitation today that is perfect for preteen and teenage boys - one age group that can be difficult until you incorporate one of their favorite things!
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on November 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.
I have all nephews on both side of my family and two of them are right in this age category. So I did a little channeling and digging through my stamp collection until I came upon the Boy Basics: Game On set. I knew it was perfect and all I had to do was use it in my design in a way that was not too cheesy (you know what I mean if you have teenagers...!) I decided to stamp the images and sentiments in the set and create a background paper for my invitation. I did that with Soft Stone ink on white cardstock. You could totally use whatever images that you want to for this background paper design: sports, fishing, just a simple background pattern, etc. and customize it for your guest of honor.
I used the candles from the new Invitations Basics set and stamped them in a line at the top of a Soft Stone card base and then set the background paper right below that. You can stamp the candles in whatever color combination that you want, like your guest of honor's favorite colors. It looks like a birthday cake when it's all put together, doesn't it? I added the "you're invited" with the new Big Basics: You're Invited die cut and a few wooden stars to dot the i's of the sentiment. On the coordinating envelope, I stamped the balloon image from the Invitation Basics set and a few stars from the Balloon Bash set.
Here is a coordinating tag that would be perfect to use on party favor bags or even on a gift for the birthday boy. I took some more of the patterned paper that I stamped and stamped a few candles from the Invitation Basics set right over the top of it.
The sentiment stamped below the candles is from the new For You set and I cut the tag out with the circle die from the Noted: Scalloped Square die collection. A bit of twine from my stash at the top of the tag was the perfect finishing touch.
You can see more new products being debuted today for the November release over at Nichole's blog. From there you can link up to other members of the design team who have new things to share with you today too!
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I will be back very soon with more to share!
