the hills series revisited
January 01, 2017
Happy New Year, everyone! It's amazing to me that here were are in 2017 already.
The first of the month means that it is time for the Papertrey Ink senior design team challenge and today we chose two set from the Hills series. My favorite seasons are autumn and winter and so those are the sets from the series that I use on the projects that I am sharing today.
Here's a look at the Autumn Hills set.
And here is the card I created to share with you today. I wanted to do some watercoloring with the sets and instead of stamping the main images in a black ink, I embossed them with clear embossing powder onto watercolor paper.
I added color with my Clean Color markers and a water brush. I love the soft look that is the result! The little hill under the house and tree is made with the In the Meadow die that I watercolored a green color along the top of. I cut out the watercolored image and the card base using the Noted: Scalloped Vertical A2 dies.
And here is the card that I created with the set. I used the same technique as the autumn card and then added a little glitter to the hill under the house and under the snowman.
The Hills series are such classic sets that can be used for so many occasions. Both sentiments from each card that I made are perfect for sending some seasonal blessings to a loved one.
Make sure to visit the rest of the Papertrey Ink senior design team to see the projects that they created with their choice of the Hills series sets: Betsy, Dawn, Amy, and Melissa.
The Papertrey Ink January release will be here before you know it - thank you so much for stopping by today!
