papertrey ink - celebrating the past, present, and future: 2011
February 15, 2017
We are celebrating 10 years at Papertrey Ink and today we are looking back to the year of 2011. I went back to all of the sets to revisit from that year and chose the Winter Penguin stamp set to create a new project to share with you today.
Winter penguin was the beginning of a bunch of fun characters that I have designed for Papertrey Ink. I have done so many fun projects with this set and it was so much fun to pull out and revisit again! I think this penguin is just the cutest ;)
I paired the Winter Penguin set withe Tag-its #8 stamp set for this project. The Tag-its series was also happening in 2011 and I couldn't leave one of my favorites from the series out today. I stamped the main snowflake frame from that set in Fresh Snow ink on kraft cardstock for the background on my card and then added a penguin to each one, except one that I added the "winter wishes" sentiment into.
I die cut and stamped the snowflakes with Spring Rain ink onto white cardstock with the coordinating Winter Penguin dies and sprinkled them around the penguins like a flurry - which we are missing in Minnesota right now because it has been so unseasonably warm! On the side of the card is a strip of some striped vellum and a peek of the Spring Rain card base.
Supplies:
Winter Wishes Card
stamps: Winter Penguin, Tag-its #8
ink: True Black, Fresh Snow, Spring Rain
cardstock: white, kraft, Spring Rain, Sheer Basics vellum
other: Winter Penguin dies, colored pencil (Prisma)
I thought it would be fun to take a look at a few of the projects that I created in the past with the Winter Penguin set. (Please excuse my photo quality with these pictures. Obviously that has greatly improved with time!)
Here are a few penguin cards perfect for the holidays - I love the one holding the jingle bell garland!
That year the penguin was the star on the personalized Christmas tags that I made.
I put the penguin inside the snow globe from the Winter Snow Globe stamp set on this card.
The penguin likes to celebrate birthdays on this card...
And on this card these two penguins are holding up a festive birthday banner to celebrate!
