papertrey ink release: sun & moon + quoted: dream big
May 19, 2017
The Papertrey Ink team is spreading out the rest of our release projects so you can continue to enjoy inspirations from the new products that made their debut this month.
Today, I have several cards to share that I created using the new Sun & Moon and Quoted: Dream Big sets.
All of the projects I am sharing today involve an inked background. I had fun playing with drips and splatters and the background worked really well with the stamp sets that I used on my projects.
This card uses the new Sun & Moon set. I embossed the moon and starts with clear embossing powder across some white cardstock and then applied Hawaiian Shores, Royal Velvet, and Dark Indigo inks over the embossed images with an ink blending tool.
After I applied the ink, I dripped water over it and let that dry. Wherever the water drops landed, it lightened the ink and created a great texture. After that was dry, I splattered some Dark Indigo and Fresh Snow ink and also added some tiny stamped stars in those same colors.
The effect is just beautiful and looks like a gorgeous night sky. I attached the stamped piece to a white card base and then added the sentiment from the Sun & Moon set underneath it in some black ink. A few sequins scattered across the card front was the perfect way to finish off the card.

For this next card, I applied Hawaiian Shores and Dark Indigo inks to a piece of Kraft cardstock. I did the same steps as the card above to create the background on the card.
After the background was dry, I added the moon and star images from the Sun & Moon set with Fresh Snow ink. I use my MISTI tool to stamp the images several times so that the white ink turned out nice and bright. The sentiment is stamped with black ink, curved around the moon image.
I added a few rainstones to the card to finish it off.

And finally, I used the new Quoted: Dream Big set for this card that I think is perfect for welcoming a new baby. I stamped the cloud & moon images, dream, and "come true" from the set with Versamark ink and embossed them with clear embossing powder.
This card uses the same technique for the background effect on the white cardstock, this time using Hawaiian Shores and Tropical Teal inks.
I added a little star garland border above and below the embossed images with some glittered die cut stars that I threaded onto some linen thread.
