papertrey ink throwback thursday: rainbow stripes die

IMG_3926

Hello everyone and welcome to a Papertrey Ink Throwback Thursday! Today, a few of us from the design team are revisiting the Rainbow Stripes die today.

The Rainbow Stripes dies are perfect for building a great background for your card and is especially perfect for a more masculine look. I used the stripes as a base for my nephew’s graduation card and did the stripes in his school colors. I am so pleased with the results!

I die cut the stripes from Enchanted Evening cardstock and a silver sparkle paper that I had in my stash. I arranged the stripes with a bit of a space between each stripe on a Dark Indigo card base. This background can so easily be adapted for any school color combination or even just use a classic black and white combination.

The "congratulations" is die cut from white cardstock using the Big Basics: Congratulations die. I stamped and die cut the graduation cap from the For the Graduate stamp set and used selective stamping inking to stamp the "to the grad" sentiment on the white notched banner piece. I sprinkled some wooden stars across the card front to finish it off.

Can I just say that I can't believe that my nephew is graduating? Already?
