papertrey ink feature: give love & in the shadows
July 10, 2017
Hi everyone and welcome to the Papertrey Ink July release countdown! I have two new stamp sets making their debut this month and I am excited to share about those in the next several days. Today I am sharing my new Give Love stamp set and coordinating dies as well as the new In the Shadows stamp set.
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on July 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.
Give Love is a set that includes sweet whimsical birds along with a branch for them to sit on with the elements of this set. The images are designed with multiple step to help you create beautiful multicolored images with just a few stamp impressions. The Give Love set retails for $24 and there are coordinating dies available.
I stamped this first card on my favorite kraft cardstock. Dye ink colors show up brighter on kraft cardstock if you stamp a layer of Fresh Snow ink first, let that dry, and then stamp the image in dye ink over the top. A stamp positioner will be helpful to line up the layered stamp images perfectly.
There are so many great elements in this set that are designed for making the perfect branch for the birds to sit on and I did just that for this cute little bluebird.
The branch pieces are stamped with Cocoa Bean ink and then I added leaves with Prairie Grass ink. I scattered some small flower images from the set around the branch in Fresh Snow ink.
The sentiments in the set are a fun script and there are some coordinating sentiments and words in a typewriter look font (you will see that in the next projects that I am sharing today!)

I just love these two sweet birds together on a card. This card would be lovely for a wedding or even just to give to that special someone. The birds are sitting on oval shadows that I stamped with the new In the Shadows stamp set.
Using shadow shape images is a great way to give your main image a place to sit on your card front and make it feel more grounded. Stamp the shadow in a light, neutral color, and stamp or add your die cut image so that the bottom sits right onto the shadow shape.
The birds are stamped with Ocean Tides and Aqua Mist inks and then die cut out. I did some ink blending and splattering on the card base with Fine Linen and Classic Kraft inks. I stamped hearts that are from the Give Love set with Fine Linen ink across the background and added a die cut heart in Pure Poppy between the birds.
I stamped the sentiment in black ink using one of the script sentiments and a companion sentiment in the typed font.

Finally, I have this cute set of bird tags to share with you. Because the bird is a solid stamp, you can add colors to customize the bird however you want.
Add multiple colors to a solid stamp with a sponge or ink blending tool and then stamp it onto the paper for our project. Using a stamp positioner will enable you to stamp the image multiple times to achieve the look that you want.
I added the birds to tags that I had applied Aqua Mist ink to and splattered with some Ocean Tides ink and water. I added some "grass" to the bottom of the tag using another shape from the In the Shadows set. The shapes in the In the Shadows stamp set can be used subtly or more pronounced with a bolder color.
I die cut and stamped the flower and leaves that are also a part of the Give Love stamp set and die collection to add to the tag. I stamped a typed word onto each tag and finished them off with a bit of aqua twine tied through the top of the tag.
