papertrey ink august release: halloween hugs kit & wicked elixir

The Papertrey Ink team is spreading out the rest of our August release projects so you can continue to enjoy inspiration from the new products that made their debut this month.

Today I have a few projects to share created with the new Halloween Hugs kit and the new Wicked Elixir stamp set. All of the new products I am sharing today are available to purchase right now at Papertrey Ink.

I think Halloween is at the top of my list when it comes to the types of projects are my favorites - and I do like tags an awful lot too! Now that my girls are older, I don't do all of the treats that I used to, but I still like to give them a little something with a special tag. A tag that I will swipe later to slide into a scrapbook!

I created these black cat tags with the new Halloween Hugs kit and I really like the vintage look and feel of them! I really just used the head of the cat from the kit. I die cut that from True Black and Smokey Shadow cardstock and stamped on the eyes and mouth in True Black ink and the whiskers in Fresh Snow ink. I added a die cut nose and ear pieces in Orange Zest cardstock. I attached the cat heads to the tag with the pinked edge from the Halloween Hugs kit.

The tag base is die cut with the Scene It: Basics Backer die in Canyon Clay cardstock. I made a stencil with the new Radiate: Dashes die and some clear acetate and used that to apply some gold embossing paste to the tag base. While the embossing paste was still wet, I sprinkled on a little glitter for a little more sparkle.

After everything was dry, I added the cat head piece onto the middle of the tag. The sentiment is from the Pumpkin Expressions set and I stamped that onto a notched banner die cut in kraft cardstock. I added and eyelet at the top of the tag, threaded a piece of baker's twine through it, and embellished the tags with a few wooden stars.

Next up is this card that I created with the new Wicked Elixir set. I really love how you can create your own little custom Halloween potions and tonics to use on projects with this set and coordinating dies!

I cut out several bottles and tops for my card and then I stamped and die cut the labels from a white adhesive sheet. It was so fun to peel and stick the finished little labels on the bottles!

The sentiment that I used on the card is from my new Autumn Scarecrow stamp set and I stamped that in a frame that I impressed on a Honey Nut card base with the Mix & Mat: Pinked Edge die. I attached the bottles above that and added a few stars that I glittered up a bit around the bottles and sentiment.
