Hello everyone and welcome to a Papertrey Ink Throwback Thursday! Today, a few of us from the design team are revisiting the Round Repeats stamp set.
Round Repeats is the perfect stamp set for creating custom patterns, backgrounds, and playing with different stamping techniques. I created a background for my project that I am sharing today and played around with embossing mixed with stamping to create images.
I started with a piece of watercolor paper and stamped the larger motifs in Versamark ink and embossed them with clear embossing powder. I sprinkled a few little embossed motifs around the larger ones as well. I watercolored around the embossed images with Honey Nut ink (I am so in love with this color - I am sure you might have noticed...!) After the watercolor was dry, I stamped the other pieces of the larger motif with Honey Nut ink and added a few smaller ones too.
I love how the background turned out and it would be so easy to do in different color themes.
I didn't want to block out the background completely to add the sentiment and so I used a piece of vellum that I die cut with the Half & Half dies. I used a glue pen to add some gold gilding to the end of the vellum piece and I love the elegant touch that it gives.
