papertrey ink feature: very merry

Hi everyone and welcome to the Papertrey Ink September release countdown! I have new stamp sets making their debut this month and I am excited to share about those in the next several days. But today, I am featuring the new Very Merry stamp set and coordinating dies.

All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on September 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.

The tree in the Very Merry stamp set is divided into 3 parts so you can stamp your trees in multiple colors easily. For this card, I stamped one of the parts with Versamark ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I applied Prairie Grass ink around the embossed image and added some spatters to the ink with water and more Prairie Grass ink.

Then I stamped the other parts of the tree with Prairie Grass and Olive Twist inks and stamped the trunk of the tree with Cocoa Bean ink.

To embellish the card, I applied gold gilding flakes to some wooden stars and also to a die cut border piece that I added to the bottom of the card. I love the elegant shine and rustic feel that the gilding gives - so pretty!

I put together a whole row of Christmas trees for this next card. Instead of stamping the parts of the tree in different colors, I stamped them all with Prairie Grass ink onto the coordinating die cut in kraft cardstock. I added some garland with Pure Poppy ink and the trunk with Cocoa Bean ink.

When I attached the trees to the card front, I overlapped them with the middle tree on top so that it looks like it's out in front. Don't be afraid to overlap die cut images like this to create depth and texture on your project!

I had so much fun adding the little ornaments to each tree to decorate them - and how cute are the little presents to put under the trees? I added a bit of patterned paper at the bottom of the card - one of the new colors this month for the Bitty Big patterned paper collection!

Finally, I have a pair of tags I created with the Very Merry trees. I stamped the trees with Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse, and Ripe Olive inks and then added the garland with Scarlet Jewel ink.

The sentiment on the tag is from my new Ways to Say: Just For You stamp set. I embossed the sentiment onto a Scarlet Jewel banner die cut in white.

I customized the banner to fit the sentiment by setting the die where I wanted to shorten the banner and then just trimmed the end by running just that end of the die in my die cut machine.

The tag base is a new die that I designed and you will hear more about it in the next few days of the release countdown. I added eyelets at the top of the tags and tied some baker's twine through them. Some wooden stars were the perfect finishing touch!
