papertrey ink feature: ways to say: merry christmas

Hi everyone and welcome to the Papertrey Ink October release countdown! Today, I am so excited to introduce one of my new stamp sets making its debut this month - Ways to Say: Merry Christmas.

All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on October 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.

The Ways to Say series is a set that gives you multiple ways to express a certain sentiment. This set features many ways to express the “merry christmas” sentiment. The sentiments are perfect for adding to holiday cards and gifts to celebrate the season with friends and loved ones. Ways to Say: Merry Christmas retails for $5 and there is a coordinating die available.

For this first card, I used the "joy to the world" sentiment to create a background. I stamped the sentiment repeatedly with Versamark ink and then embossed the stamped sentiments with clear embossing powder. I applied Honey Nut ink with a blending sponge over the embossed sentiments and added a few splatters and splotches with ink and water.

I added a tree to the card die cut from Olive Twist cardstock and added some stars and confetti to decorate it.

I stamped the "merry christmas" sentiment on a strip of kraft cardstock and then snipped the ends of the strip to add the notches before I attached it to the card to finish it off.

For this card, I stamped a winter scene with stamps that are included in my new Traveler's Journal: December stamp set on a piece of kraft cardstock.

I love the look of stamping snowflakes onto solid colored cardstock (especially kraft cardstock!) with Fresh Snow ink. The ink takes a bit more time to dry, but it so worth it for the stunning result.

I stamped the "'tis the season" sentiment in black ink above the stamped trees. You could use almost any of the sentiments from the Ways to Say: Merry Christmas on this card, which is the beauty of the Ways to Say series!

The stamped image is framed with a die cut from the new Mix & Mat: Snowflakes die collection that you will hear more about later on in the Papertrey Ink October release countdown.

For the card background, I added a few die cut snowflakes onto a Prairie Grass card base.

Finally, I have a set of tags to share that are stamped with Ways to Say: Merry Christmas and images from Traveler's Journal: December stamp sets. The smaller sentiments from Ways to Say: Merry Christmas fit perfectly on the polka dot label in the Traveler's Journal: December set.

I stamped the labels with Prairie Grass ink onto Prairie Grass cardstock for a tone on tone look. That subtle look was perfect for stamping the sentiment onto. I stamped and cut out the mittens and added string to link them together before I attached them to the tag base.

The tag base is die cut from Olive Twist cardstock with the Berry Wreath Tag die and each tag has a snowflake die cut with the Silver White Winters dies in white cardstock.

I can't wait to attach these to holiday gifts!
