papertrey november 2017 release: quoted: living longer

Hi everyone and welcome to another day of the Papertrey Ink November release countdown! Today, I have projects to share featuring the new Quoted: Living Longer stamp set.

All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on November 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.

For this first card, I embossed the full quote with clear embossing powder onto watercolor paper and then used inks to watercolor around the embossed images. Emboss Resist remains one of my favorite techniques and a sentiment set like this is perfect to use with it!

One tip I have, especially when I am doing this technique with words and sentiments: Use a dark color around the letters to help them pop a bit more on your project. I used a wet brush to add Dark Indigo ink around the words on this card.

I framed the sentiment with a die from the new Mix & Mat: Plaid die collection and then added it to an Ocean Tides card base. I sprinkled a few pieces of clear confetti around the sentiment.

This card has a more rustic look, especially since I paired it with the new Background Basics: Birch stamp set. I stamped the quote on Kraft cardstock with black ink and the die cut it out with a stitched rectangle from the Noted: Scalloped A2 Vertical die.

I highlighted the banner in the sentiment by stamping that onto a piece of white cardstock with Olive Twist ink and then cutting it out and attaching it to the Kraft cardstock with a bit of foam tape to pop it up a bit. I also stamped the heart from the Quoted: Living Longer stamp set across the sentiment with Classic Kraft ink for a tone on tone look.

I attached the stamped piece to an Olive Twist card base that I adhered a piece of stamped birch paper to finish off this rustic card.

And finally, I used just part of the quote for the sentiment on this card. The quote is separated into sections and so it's very easy to stamp just this portion - and I love this line on its own.

I created my own background for this card using the little hearts in the stamp set. I stamped them in a grid pattern onto Honey Nut cardstock with Fresh Snow ink. After that was done, I stamped the main sentiment over the top with black ink and added a few more hearts in black to accent it.

For a bit of detail, I used the Heart Border die to add a mini scallop detail along the bottom edge of the stamped piece. I used some gold gilding flakes for a pretty and rustic gold shine.
