papertrey ink - throwback thursday: candy cane christmas
December 21, 2017
Hello everyone and welcome to a Papertrey Ink Throwback Thursday! Today, a few of us from the design team are revisiting the Candy Cane Christmas stamp set.
It was so much fun to revisit this classic Christmas set! Candy Cane Christmas includes so many great pepperminty images to use on your projects for the holidays. I used the candy canes and a few extra peppermint candies to put together some Christmas tags - and I might tuck an actual candy cane onto the gifts I attach the tags to as well!
I made a tag base with the Berry Wreath tag that is die cut from Pure Poppy cardstock that I stamped with the Background Basics: Super Gingham set in True Black ink. And then had way too much fun layering the different elements to create my tag!
I had an idea of what I wanted to use on the tag and so die cut and stamped the candy canes, die cut the snowflakes, die cut and glittered the pine boughs, die cut and stamped the banner tag piece, and stamped and punched out the little peppermint candies.
It can take a little while to arrange things just right on the tag - lots of shuffling, adding, and removing. Once I was happy with how things looked, I adhered everything in place. I love all of the dimension that the tag has! A bit of True Black baker's twine is looped through the top of the tag to attach it to a gift.
