It's Throwback Thursday at Papertrey Ink and today we are visiting the Zappy Birthday stamp set.
Zappy Birthday is that perfect set for your loved ones who are into super heroes and comic books - and I have a lot of those in my family! I had fun taking elements from the set and creating some fun patterns to use on the card that I am sharing today. This one won't last long in my stash for sure!
I pulled out some Dark Indigo and Honey Nut cardstock. On the Dark Indigo, I stamped the burst patterns in an alternating pattern with Fresh Snow ink and then added the burst outline with Dark Indigo ink. Then, on the Honey Nut cardstock I stamped the lightning bolts with Honey Nut ink. Creating custom patterned papers and background like this is just a favorite of mine to do! I added the Honey Nut pattern to the bottom of the Dark Indigo piece and added a bit of stitching with my sewing machine.
The sentiments are stamped on the coordinating Zappy Birthday die cuts - the "zappy birthday" with Honey Nut ink and then the "you're super" with Dark Indigo ink so they coordinate with my background pattern colors. I stamped the "celebrate now!" in black ink under the die cut sentiments and then added some wooden stars and gold sparkle enamel dots as a finishing touch.
