simple to spectacular: fall florals
October 31, 2018
I am a part of the Simple to Spectacular feature today at Papertrey Ink using the Fall Florals stamp set.
It's amazing how just a small addition to your card design can step things up and take them to the next level. It has been a while since I pulled out the Fall Florals set and I used the set to create a trio of sympathy cards - a card theme that I like to keep a supply on hand of.
I started off this simple card design by stamping the floral images across the bottom of the card front. I used Prairie Grass ink for the leaves and Honey Nut ink for the flower puffs.
The sympathy sentiment is from the Graceful Greetings II stamp set and is stamped with black ink at the top of the flowers. I finished off the card with a few spatters of Cocoa Bean and Fresh Snow inks.
To step things up for this intermediate design, I did some ink blending on the stamp images to add some depth. I love comparing the stamped images to see the difference a little blending and shading makes!
I also added an impressed frame using the middle die piece from the Mix & Mat: Pinked Edge die collection. This intermediate design is my favorite of the three!
And finally for this spectacular version of the card design, I added another layer of texture to the flowers by stamping the polka dot texture over the top with some Classic Kraft ink. The effect is subtle, but really gives the flowers a beautiful look.
I added some sequins sprinkled across the flowers and a bit of stitching to finish up this last card design. Which version is your favorite?
