papertrey ink november release - home to roost + mix-ups pocket tags

Welcome to day 4 of the Papertrey Ink November release countdown. Today I have projects to share that I created with the new Home to Roost stamp set & dies and the new Mix-Ups Pocket Tags dies.

As much as I love creating projects for the holidays, it was nice to take a break and create some projects with another theme. The Home to Roost set is adorable with the sweet little birdhouses and birds! I decided to nestle one of the houses in the trees with the Cover Plate: Nesting die.

I stamped one of the birdhouses onto white cardstock and then inked Aqua Mist and Hawaiian Shores around the stamped image. 

I die cut the Cover Plate: Nesting die from kraft cardstock and attached it over the stamped birdhouse piece. The leaves are cut from Prairie Grass cardstock that I had run through a sticker machine. That made it very easy to attach all of those leaves to the branches! The little birds are stamped with Summer Sunrise ink with a little shading their bellies with Orange Zest ink.

I was so excited about how my Home to Roost card turned out that I decided to do the same idea on one of the new Mix-Ups Pocket Tags. I die cut the tag base from kraft cardstock and then the pocket front from white cardstock. Then I did the same technique as the card and stamped the birdhouse and inked the Aqua Mist and Hawaiian Shores inks around it.

I die cut out just a portion of the branches from the Cover Plate: Nesting die and added that above the birdhouse along with some leaves. The pocket tag is secured with some 1/8" Scor-tape and then I added an eyelet and a bit of twine to finish it off. How fun will it be to give a thank you gift and use the card and tag together?
