taylored expressions - december sneak peeks day 3

Welcome to day 3 of the Taylored Expressions December release sneak peeks. Today, I have some more Valentine projects to share with you using the new Backstory - Valentine Background stamp, Caps Lock - Love die, Caps Lock Companion set, and Accordion Heart dies.

All of the new products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on December 6th, 9AM CT at Taylored Expressions.

This first card I have to share with you today is a shaker card using the reverse image of the "love" word die cut. I die cut the word out of a piece of Fruit Punch cardstock - one of the new colors this month! - that I stamped the Backstory - Valentine Background onto with Cherry Pop ink. I added the "all you need is" sentiment above the die cut opening with Oreo ink. The Caps Love Companion set has a bunch of fun coordinating sentiments to use with the die cut "love" word.

I backed the word with some window acetate and made a place to hold some confetti with foam tape. I added the stamped piece to a Toffee card base. Using a contrasting color behind the shaker window helps it to really stand out and that is especially important when the window happens to be a word that you want to be able to read.

One final touch is a Cherry Pop heart popped up with a bit of foam tape right under the "love".

I don't think there is anything better that wows a card recipient more than a shaker card. I always get the, "How did you make this???" reaction, which I love!

This next set of notecards features the new Accordion Heart dies. I used the largest heart from the Heart Stacklets die collection for the card front cut from some Toffee cardstock that I stamped the the Brushed Hearts Background in Sugar Cube ink. When you assemble the pieces with the Accordion Heart dies, the result is this pretty dimensional heart to use on your projects.  I used a combination of Fruit Punch and Cherry Pop cardstock to create my hearts and added a bit of stitching with my sewing machine down the centers.

Here's a look at what the cards look like opened up. I die cut the card base from another piece of cardstock that was folded in half and made sure to overlap the die over the side fold on the side of the heart. It's a super easy technique that will allow you to use your dies in a whole new way.

The hearts flatten easily enough to tuck into an envelope so they are ready for delivering to your Valentine!

Make sure you stop by the Taylored Expressions blog to get all of the details about the Double Crafty Points Bundle that is available December 6th - 9th. It's a beautiful collection of dies that are perfect fro creating cards for Valentine's Day, weddings, anniversaries, and more.
