Now onto the projects!
This pair of cards features my new Birthday Basics stamp set and the new Simple Strips - Birthday stamp. I stamped a background with the images from the Birthday Basics set using Sugar Cube and Toffee inks on Toffee cardstock. This neutral background is perfect to use for cards with either a masculine or feminine feel depending on the colors that you choose for the sentiment strips and stars. I did a color combination that would work for just about anyone using Cookie Monster, Lime Zest, and Guava.
I stamped the Simple Strips - Birthday with Sugar Cube ink onto the three colors of cardstock and then cut them out with the coordinating Simple Strips die. I have a pile of sentiments ready to go when I need them for birthday projects and the simple style coordinates with just about everything! The glittery stars are die cut using the star dies from the Banner Year - 4th of July set and I added glitter using a glue pen.
This card is created with the new Big Grumpy set and Big Grumpy - Birthday stamp set and coordinating dies. Big Grumpy just makes me smile because he is just... so grumpy! You know he hates having to go to a party and he gets especially crabby if you make him wear a party hat and hold a balloon. I stamped Big Grumpy and his party accessories with Oreo ink and colored everything with Copic markers.
The background on this card is created with my new Confetti Toss stencil. I colored embossing paste with some liquid watercolors (Cookie Monster, Guava, and Lime Zest) and then applied the different colors through the stencil for a fun and dimensional rainbow effect. I also sprinkled a little glitter onto the embossing paste before it dried to add a bit of sparkle.
