taylored expressions - blender brushes with masking

IMG_8401

Hey, everyone! Have you checked out the shiny new website at Taylored Expressions? It just made its debut this week and with the new website comes some long awaited news of the blender brush restock! Pre-orders will begin for the blender brushes next week. Stay tuned to the Taylored Expressions blog and website for more information. They will be worth the wait, I promise!

I have a project to share with you today that I created with the blender brushes that is perfect for celebrating a birthday!

I created a mask using the Celebrate Big Balloon Shaker die and some Sugar Cube cardstock. Did you know that you can use the Pixie Spray to hold a cardstock stencil in place? That is exactly what I did and it didn't rip or tear the stencil or the cardstock that I stenciled onto. I stenciled three balloons and blended them in pinks, yellows, and turquoise inks. After I stenciled the balloons, I added stars from the Banner Year set stamped in coordinating ink colors.

You might notice some white or lighter colored stars on the balloons as well. This was a happy accident I discovered by stamping the Star Fall Background stamp over the top of the balloons using Sea Salt ink while the inks were not completely dry. Sea Salt ink applied over an inked area while it is not dry will do an ink lifting effect - so cool!

The "celebrate" sentiment is die cut from Lollipop cardstock using the Mini Caps Alpha & #'s die collection and then I added the stamped celebrate underneath from the Banner Year set. This card is ready to deliver for a birthday celebration (in fact it already has been!)
