the greetery - sketchbook roses + botanicuts: rose + pretty postmarks + written in ribbons

Hi everyone! Welcome back for day 2 of the January mini release countdown at The Greetery! Today I have more projects to share that use new products that are making their debut this month: the new Sketchbook Roses stamp set & dies, the new Sentiment Suite: Love stamp set, the new Written in Ribbons stamp set, the new BotaniCuts: Rose die collection, the new Pretty Postmarks stamp set, and the new Windowpane Plaid Background stamp.

All of the new products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on Friday, January 17th, 10AM ET at The Greetery. That's tomorrow!

This first card is all sorts of shimmery that is a bit hard to capture in a photo. I embossed the outline image from the Sketchbook Roses stamp set with gold embossing powder onto a piece of watercolor paper. I added color to the image using some shimmery watercolor paints that are so fun and sparkly!

I die cut the whole image using a Nordic Frames die that was new from the November release. The detail on the border is so delicate and pretty and adds such a pretty touch. The sentiment is stamped in black ink and then I added a bit more sparkle by adding some sequins scattered around the floral image.

  • STAMPS, DIES, & STENCILS: Sketchbook Roses stamp set & dies (The Greetery), Nordic Frames die (The Greetery)
  • INK: Versamark (Tsukineko), Jet Black Archival (Ranger)
  • PAPER: watercolor (Fluid), Toffee (Taylored Expressions)
  • OTHER: gold embossing powder (Taylored Expressions), Snow Flurries sequins (Taylored Expressions), Metallic Accents paints (Prima), Metallic Accents - Pastels paints (Prima)

This next card has such a great vintage look and feel to it! The floral image is stamped onto kraft cardstock and I stamped the filler colors first and then added the outline image with white ink. I had to use two stamp positioning tools to get everything to line up just right!

The background is stamped with the handwriting blocks from the Pretty Postmarks stamp set in Toffee ink along with the vintage stamp and postmark images. To add to the vintage look, I used a blender brush to add more Toffee ink around the edges of the background. The 'love you always' sentiment is from the new Sentiment Suite: Love stamp set.

Finally, I had so much fun creating this birthday card with the new BotaniCuts: Rose die collection! I watercolored several shades of pink using Guava liquid watercolor on pieces of watercolor cardstock and then die cut the different elements for the rose from them. I started with the lightest shade on the outside of the roses and gradually got darker on each layer towards the center. The leaves are die cut from watercolor cardstock that I painted with different shades of Peapod liquid watercolor.

The pieces and assembly of the BotaniCuts: Rose are intricate, but Betsy provides excellent instructions and the results are absolutely beautiful! I added the rose for this project onto a background that I stamped with the Windowpane Plaid Background stamp with white ink onto kraft cardstock.

The sentiment on the card is embossed with white embossing powder using the 'happy' word from the Written in Ribbons stamp set. I used just the one layer of the word for my project and then added the coordinating 'birthday to you' sentiment embossed in white on a strip of pink cardstock.
