taylored expressions - february release day!

Hi everyone! Today is release day at Taylored Expressions and all of the new products for the February release are available to purchase right now!

Today, I have projects to share with you using the new Spring Stems stamp set, Handlettered Sympathy stamp set, Simple Strips - Sympathy stamp set, and Masking Stencils - Square Windows collection. Both of my projects are sympathy cards which are unfortunately a card that I need more often than not. I like that I have more of these cards ready to go when I need one.

For the first card, I used the new Masking Stencils - Square Windows collection to stencil the three squares down the left side of my card front with Sugar Cube ink. I love the guidelines that are etched into the stencil so that I know that everything is going to be straight and lined up perfectly. I left the masking stencil in place and used some Post-It notes to mask off squares so that I could stamp the different botanical elements into each square.

The sentiment is from the new Handlettered Sympathy set and I stamped that with black ink. You could swap out any of the other sentiments in the set or even use a different sentiment since a botanical themed card could be used for a number of different occasions. I finished off the card with alittle bit of sparkle using the new Bit & Pieces - Rhinestones embellishment. The white iridescent rhinestones can go with so many different things and I can see myself reaching for them quite a bit.

This next card is one of my favorites that I did for this release using the Spring Stems stamp set. I used my blended brushes and blended Confetti Cake and Cookie Monster inks onto a piece of Toffee cardstock. I stamped the botanical stems and butterflies from the Spring Stems stamp set over the blended color using Sugar Cube ink. Most of the stems I stamped with a few impressions using my MISTI to get a crisp image, but I stamped a few with just one impression so that they look farther away and add depth to the design.

The sentiment is from the new Simple Strips - Sympathy stamp that I stamped with Sugar Cube ink onto Toffee cardstock. I added a vellum border to the strip using the Simple Strips Backer die. I love how it really helps the sentiment strip stand out just a bit more on my project.

Creating more of this card design is definitely on my to-do list and I want to experiment with different color blends too!
