taylored expressions - patriotic release
June 01, 2020
Hi, everyone! There's a new patriotic product release this week at Taylored Expressions and I have a few projects to share with you today. I also designed several new products for this release and I am excited to share them with you!
All of the new products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on June 2nd (tomorrow!), 9AM CT at Taylored Expressions.
First up is this set of card that I create with my new Fireworks Stamp & Stencil set. There's a red rubber star background that you stamp first and then use the stencils to add multi-colored fireworks. There are guides etched on the stencils to enable you to line up the design just perfectly! I am so excited about how this set turned out and I know you are going to love creating with it! Make sure you stop by the Taylored Expressions blog or YouTube page to see Taylor's video featuring this set!
I stamped the stars in Sugar Cube ink onto Toffee cardstock (this stamp just on its own is pretty great) and then added the fireworks with Cherry Pop and Blueberry inks. I added glimmer paste through one of the stencils on each project - because fireworks definitely need sparkle!
The sentiments on the cards are stamped using the previously released Handlettered 4th of July stamp set. I embossed the sentiments with white on Cherry Pop and Blueberry cardstock and cut them out with the new coordinating Handlettered 4th of July dies. I love how detailed these dies are! I added an extra layer under the sentiments and slid it down and to the side just a bit to create a dimensional shadow effect. It really makes the sentiment pop on the card design!
Supplies:
Next up is a set of treat boxes that I created with the All Tucked In die and All Tucked In - Windows dies. I used the star background from the new Fireworks Stamp & Stencil set to stamp the all over star design with Sugar Cube ink onto the Cherry Pop and Blueberry cardstock All Tucked In boxes before I assembled them.
The sentiments on the boxes are stamped with my new All Tucked In - Patriotic stamp set. This set is designed to coordinate with the other All Tucked in products and has patriotic themed sentiments and images. I stamped the sentiments with Oreo ink onto Toffee cardstock and stamped star and firework images around the sentiments with Cherry Pop, Blueberry, and Sugar Cube inks. I cut out the tags with the smallest Stitched Banner Stacklets die and attached them across the treat boxes.
Supplies:
This next card is created with the new Starry collection. There is a background stamp with an all over star design, a stencil that lines up perfectly to add color to the stars, and a cover plate die to cut out all of the stars with one pass through your die cut machine.
I stamped the background design with Oreo ink and then added color with the stencil and my Blender Brushes. I started with Cherry Pop ink at the top of the design and blended down to Mulled Wine ink at the bottom. I used the cutting plate to cut out the star shapes from masking paper and applied them over the colored stars (a light table was a great tool to use for lining the stars up!) I added color to the whole background using my Blender Brushes again, using Blueberry ink at the top of the design and blended down to Blue Corn ink at the bottom. I peeled off the masking paper stars to reveal the colored background design - that was the best part!
The sentiments are stamped with the new Mini Strips - Patriotic stamp and embossed in white on Toffee cardstock. I used the coordinating Mini Strips die to cut out all 10 sentiments at once and then picked out several to add to my card. I popped them up just a bit with some foam squares and added a few glittered stars scattered around the sentiment strips.
Supplies:
Finally, I have a pair of cards that I created with my new Pennant Parade Cling & Clear set. The set includes a banner background design in red rubber and then a mini clear set of five different fills to color in the pennants on the background image.
Stop by the Taylored Expressions blog tomorrow to see a video tutorial on how I created this project!
I stamped the banner background with Oreo ink and used Cherry Pop, Mulled Wine, Blueberry, and Blue Corn inks to add the different patterned fills onto each of the pennants. The stars and fireworks between the banner designs are stamped with my new All Tucked In - Fireworks stamp set in the same colors as the pennant fills.
I used patriotic colors for my project, but this design would work wonderfully by switching out colors for other celebrations like a birthday or graduation.
The 'celebrate freedom' sentiments are stamped with the Handlettered 4th of July stamp set. I inked up the sentiment with a lighter color and then inked up just the bottom of the sentiment stamp with a darker color using a Blender Brush to create and ombre/gradient effect.
The sentiments are cut out with the coordinating Handlettered 4th of July dies and I added an extra layer of color peeking out just a bit from the bottom of the die cut sentiment to create that same dimensional shadow like I did on my fireworks project above. I added a few glittered stars around the sentiment for a finishing touch.
