taylored expressions - like gnome other

Hnichols-likegnomeother-TE-1

Hey, everyone! There's a release happening at Taylored Expressions today for products that were originally part of kits. I have a project to share that is created with the Like Gnome other stamp set that was originally a part of the kit by the same name.

The new products that I am sharing today are available to purchase RIGHT NOW in the Taylored Expressions webstore!

The gnomes are so cute in the Like Gnome Other stamp set! I stamped the boy gnome and colored him with Copic markers and added shading with Prismacolor pencils blended with Gamsol. I thought the cute gnome would be perfect to pair with a rustic looking background that I created with the Wood Plank Background stamp.

To create the look: I brushed a piece of Toffee cardstock with white acrylic paint, I stamped over the top with the Wood Plank Background stamp using Toffee ink, I added lots of splatters with Sugar Cube ink and Chocolate Truffle liquid watercolor, I cut the cardstock into strips, and then I attached the strips down to make the pieced wood plank background.

The area behind the gnome is added using the larger square from the Masking Stencils - Squares set. I had originally just impressed the Diagonal Stitch Square Stacklets frame and thought that would be enough to highlight the gnome, but the stitches got lost in the rustic wood plank background. Adding the Toffee ink with the masking stencil was the perfect fix!

I added the gnome with foam squares to pop him up a little along with a few mushrooms that are created with the Layer It - Toadstools dies. My finishing touches are a few Bits & Pieces - Clear Drip Drops and a stitched Pumpkin cardstock strip across the bottom of the card.
