This first project is a trio of cards that I created with the kit. The background stamp from the Butterflies Stamp & Stencil Combo set is the butterfly bodies and I stamped those using Oreo ink on Salt Water Taffy, Pink Champagne, and Peaches 'n' Cream cardstock. There are two stencils in the set to add the wings: I used the first stencil for the top wings with Sugar Cube ink and then added the bottom wings using coordinating inks to the cardstock colors. I used the Butterfly Wishes stamp set to add patterns to the wings in coordinating ink colors.
Once the backgrounds were done I cut them out with a Petite Scallop Rectangle Stacklets die and the used the Butterflies dies to cut out a few of the butterflies on each background. One the background were attached to the Toffee card bases, I added the die cut butterflies right over where they were cut out using foam squares that I trimmed down into a strip. I folded the edges of the butterfly wings up for a butterfly effect.
The sentiments are from the Sweet Sentiments stamp set and are stamped onto vellum strips with Oreo ink. I folded the edges of the vellum behind the backgrounds to attach them and then added the Diamond Jewels as butterfly trails under the popped up butterflies on each card.
This project is featured today over on the Taylored Expressions blog along with a video, so make sure to stop by there and check that out!
For this next set of cards, I used the Butterflies Stamp & Stencil Combo set and added it to a piece of Sugar Cube Cardstock that I had stenciled a rectangle onto using the smaller rectangle stencil from Masking Stencils - Rectangles set. I masked off the stenciled rectangle with the insert piece, added the butterfly bodies with Oreo ink, and then added the wings using Peaches 'n' Cream, Salt Water Taffy, and Pink Champagne ink and my Pastel Blender Brushes.
I stamped additional butterflies using the Butterfly Wishes stamp set and cut them out with the coordinating Butterflies dies. They are added onto the stenciled rectangle using foam squares along with the stamped 'hello, friend' sentiment and a few looped butterfly trails.
