taylored expressions - father's day release

Hnichols-argyle-1-TE

Hey, everyone! Today is the Fathers Day release at Taylored Expressions! This release has all sorts of masculine themed products that you can, of course, use for other kinds of projects and there's a few new beer themed products too! I have a few projects to share with you today using the new products from the release.

The new products for the Father's Day release are available to purchase RIGHT NOW in the Taylored Expressions webstore!

This trio of Father's Day themed cards feature backgrounds that are created with the new Argyle Stamp & Stencil Combo set and Diamonds Piercing Plate. I used the set and piercing plate in a few different combinations - from left to right in the photo above: just the Argyle Stamp & Stencil Combo set, the Argyle Stamp & Stencil Combo set and the Diamonds Piercing Plate, and just the stencils from the Argyle Stamp & Stencil Combo set and the Diamonds Piercing Plate. I am really excited about the different combinations that I created for these cards and can't wait to play more with different background designs!

The color combination I used for my cards is Avocado, Honey, Blue Corn, Sugar Cube, and Toffee. The combination was perfect for the masculine look that I was going for!

The sentiments are created with the On the Block - Dad stamp (+ coordinating die) and new Simple Strips - Man Myth Legend stamp. I stamped the 'Dad' words with a tone on tone look by stamping the ink colors onto the same color of cardstock. The sentiment strips are stamped with Sugar Cube ink onto the different cardstock colors and cut out with the Simple Strips - Asymmetrical die. By rotating the color combination placement on each card, I gave each card a different look while still creating multiples.

I finished the card off with tiny stars using the Gathered Stars die. This die is free with any purchase $100 or more in the TE webstore during the month of May and the little stars I used are actually 'leftovers' from the actual die cut. They are perfect for embellishing projects or would be great to use for shaker cards!

This project is featured today over on the Taylored Expressions blog along with a video, so make sure to stop by there and check that out!

This next card pair nods to the beer connoisseurs out there! I used the new Ticks & Tacks Background both as the background and stamped onto the beer mug die cuts. The Little Bits - Mug die was one that had been retired at TE, but it has been brought back so you can use it with the other new beer themed products that are debuting today. I cut the mugs out from Honey cardstock, added a bit of shading on the bottom with my blender brush, cut the foam out of Sugar Cube cardstock and glittered it with Sugar Cube glitter, and added an extra strip of white at the top of the much with Sugar Cube ink and a water brush.

I added the mugs to the cards around the sentiments that are created with the On the Block - Dad stamped in Oreo ink and sentiment strips from the Simple Strips - Man Myth Legend stamp. I did birthday themed sentiments for this pair of cards, but you could use this card for any sort of celebration!
