Hey, everyone! Today is a new release at Taylored Expressions! This release includes products that are designed to create interactive theater fold cards. There is a die and special cardstock pack to create the cards plus other stamps and dies that are designed to use with theater fold cards - and you can use them for other kinds of projects! I have projects to share that include a theater fold card and a few more standard A2 cards too.
The new products for the Theater Fold product release are available to purchase RIGHT NOW in the Taylored Expressions webstore!
Normally, to create a theater fold card, you need to do lots of measuring, cutting, and scoring to prepare all of the pieces that you need. With the new Theater Fold Frame dies and Theater Fold Flaps packs, you have everything you need ready to go to create. This was my first time making a theater fold card and it went together really easily!
The frame on my card is cut from Sugar Cube cardstock that I added a color blend onto using my blender brushes with Guava, Pineapple, and Cookie Monster inks. I stenciled the Confetti Toss stencil over the top of the blended cardstock with Sugar Cube ink. The frame is cut out with the Theater Fold Frame die and there are two cardstock strips attached to the back of the frame to hold the back part of the card to the front.
In the frame opening, I stamped the 'happy birthday' from the new Oh My Word - Happy Birthday stamp set in Sugar Cube ink and added 'make a wish' from the set underneath in Oreo ink. I sprinkled a few glitter stars around the sentiments that are cut out from silver and gold glitter cardstock.
When you pull from each side of the frame (the sides are created with the Theater Fold Flaps packs), the card opens up, with each side going out like a theater curtain, to reveal what's on the inside (the back/base of the card is also included in the Theater Fold Flaps packs). On the inside, I added a colorful pile of presents from the Bitty Borders stamp set that are colored with Copic markers to match the blended frame, the 'let's celebrate' sentiment stamped in Oreo ink, and a few more glittery stars.
A card like this is an extra special surprise for the recipient and I'll definitely be making more of them!
This card, that is non-interactive, features the new Oh My Word - Thank You stamp set and coordinating die. I stamped the 'thank you' with Sugar Cube ink onto Guava cardstock that is cut out with the coordinating die. I cut a few extra die cut pieces to layer the word up so it will stand up a bit from the card front. I used another piece of cardstock that I had blended and stenciled with the Confetti Toss stencil like I did on the theater fold card for a frame on the card front. I cut the frame opening using a Stitched Rectangle Stacklets die.
I added the 'you're the best' sentiment stamped at the bottom of the frame opening, added the 'thank you' above it, and then added the cute rainbow and sunshine image from the Bitty Borders stamp set at the top of the frame opening. The final touch is a few gold and silver glittery stars sprinkled through the design.
This card features the cute critter border from the Bitty Borders stamp set. I colored them with Copic markers and added them to a card front that is stenciled with just the star stencil from the Grad Caps Layered Stencil set. I used the Little Bits - Balloons dies (this set is now retired, but you can use other balloon or circle dies to add balloons like this to your project) to cut out several balloons from the blended cardstock that I used on my two other cards, I added a length of burlap twine to each one, and attached them above the critters with the strings tucked behind the image.
The 'let's celebrate' sentiment below the critter border is from the Oh My Word - Happy Birthday stamp set and I had to finish this card with a few more gold and silver sparkly stars like on my other projects that I am sharing today!
