taylored expressions - 4th of july!

Hey, everyone! Today is a new release at Taylored Expressions! This release includes products perfect for celebrating the red, white, and blue and I have a few projects to share today. My projects feature the products that I designed for this release: the Starstruck Stamp, Stencil, & Clear Combo set + Starstruck dies and the Uncle Sam Cling & Clear Combo set + Uncle Sam's Head die + Uncle Sam stencil.

The new products for the 4th of July release are available to purchase RIGHT NOW in the Taylored Expressions webstore!

The new Starstruck set includes a red rubber background with bold stars, 2 coordinating stencils to add scattered stars and starbursts to the background, and a clear set to add patterned stars and other extra details. the Starstruck die collection includes two outline stars that coordinate with the bold stars, star dies for the patterned stars in the clear set, and extra star dies perfect for embellishing! You can use all of these pieces together, like I did on my project, or mix and match the elements for your card designs. And don't limit yourself to patriotic projects, this set is great for other celebrations too!

I stamped the bold star background with Blue Corn ink on Toffee cardstock and again on Sugar Cube cardstock. I cut out the smaller stars on the Sugar Cube cardstock with the coordinating dies. Because the stars have a distressed edge to them, the dies don't line up exactly and give you a fun and whimsical look. I popped the smaller stars up with a few die cut layers to add to the card front.

The stenciling on the background is created with the stencils in the set. I used Sugar Cube ink with the scattered stars and Toffee ink for the starbursts. The patterned stars are stamped with Cherry Pop ink and cut out with the coordinating die to add to the centers fo the larger bold stars. All of the sparkle is added with the smaller star dies cut out with silver glitter cardstock. I added some to the smaller bold star centers and then scattered the others throughout the card design. The sentiment is stamped with the Mini Strips - Patriotic stamp, cut out with the coordinating Mini Strips die, and added to the card with a foam sticky strip to pop it up.

This card was featured on the TE blog yesterday along with a video showing how I created this card with the Starstruck Stamp, Cling, & Clear Combo set. Watch the video below:

Next up is a card and tag set created with the Uncle Sam Cling & Clear Combo set. To create the background for the card and tags, I stamped the background onto Toffee cardstock with Sugar Cube ink and added the fireworks with the Uncle Sam stencil using modeling paste, sprinkling silver glitter onto the paste before it completely dried to add sparkle! I stamped the background again on Sugar Cube cardstock using Oreo ink and added color to the Uncle Sam images using the clear stamps in the set. The hats are stamped with Blue Corn and Cherry Pop inks, the face is stamped with Peaches 'n' Cream inks (stamped off once), the cheeks are stamped with Pink Champagne ink, and the hair is stamped with Sea Salt ink. Once the color was added, I cut out the Uncle Sam images using the Uncle Sam's Head die.

I added the Uncle Sams to Cherry Pop banners that are stamped with sentiments from the clear set using Sugar Cube ink and then added them to the card and tags. The tags are cut out using a Pierced Tag Stacklets 2 die layered onto a Tag Stacklets 2 die. My finishing touch was more sparkle around the banners created by the small star dies from the Starstruck die collection cut out from silver glitter cardstock.
