the greetery - capturing summer day 1
July 12, 2021
Hey, everyone! There's a new release happening this week at The Greetery and the theme is Capturing Summer. Summertime at The Greetery looks like front porches, catching fireflies, being in nature, and more - all of my favorite things! I have a few projects to share with you today and tomorrow that I created with the new products.
All of the new products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on Wednesday, July 14th, 10AM ET at The Greetery.
First up is this card cerated with the new Sitting Pretty dies. I whitewashed a piece of kraft cardstock with white acrylic paint to cut out the porch base with and added it to a background that is stamped with the Windowpane Plaid Background stamp. I cut out the rocking chair from the same whitewashed cardstock and used a blender brush with kraft colored ink to darken it a bit. I put it together with the cushion piece that is cut from burgundy cardstock and added it to the porch.
Next, was dressing up the porch with plants that I cut out using the Sitting Pretty Accessories dies. There are several pots in a few sizes, including on that can hang from the top of the porch. I cut those out from orange cardstock that is blended with brown ink. I added foliage cut out from green cardstock and flowers cut out from burgundy cardstock. The plants were so much fun to arrange on the porch with the rocking chair!
The sentiment from the new Curio Labels stamp set is stamped in black ink onto the background and I added a few tiny rhinestones in the plants for a touch of sparkle. I dream of having porch like this to spend lazy summer days on!
Supplies:
Fireflies are for sure a summertime thing for me in Minnesota and I was excited about the new fireflies in this Capturing Summer collection! I added a double sided adhesive to the front of the cardstock that I cut out the fireflies from and added glow powder to the bodies and glitter to the wings. When the card is in the dark, the fireflies actually glow!
I added the fireflies onto the Jumbo Jar die cut that is cut out from kraft cardstock. The background and sentiment on the jar is created with the Shining Light dies and Firefly Nights stamp set. I layered the jar over a piece of honey colored cardstock to peek through the die cut openings.
The card front features a border at the bottom that is stamped with the Windowpane Background stamp to look like a tablecloth to set the jar onto. On the jar I also added a bunch of tiny, sparkly rhinestones.
