Hey, everyone! Today is a new release at Taylored Expressions and it's everything Halloween! Autumn and Halloween are a few of my favorite themes to craft with and I had so much fun creating the projects that I am sharing with you today. I also designed several of the products for this release: Jack-o-Lantern Cutting Plate, Jack-o-Lantern stencil, Layer It - Pumpkins die collection, and Critter Clips - Halloween die collection. I hope you enjoy it all!
The new products for the Halloween release are available to purchase RIGHT NOW in the Taylored Expressions webstore!
This first set of projects have backgrounds that are created with the Jack-o-Lantern Cutting Plate die and Jack-o-Lantern stencil. The pumpkins are put together with the Layer It - Pumpkins die collection and the sentiments are from both old and new Halloween products.
The background on this card is cut out using the Jack-o-Lantern Cutting Plate die from Oreo cardstock that I then layered on top of a piece of orange glitter cardstock. I love all of the sparkle showing through the pumpkin faces and wish that I could show it to all of you in person! I added a sentiment created with the new On the Block - Boo stamped in Oreo ink on Candy Corn cardstock and cut out with the coordinating On the Block - Boo Shadow die. The sentiment strip under the 'boo' is stamped with the Mini Strips - Halloween stamp and cut out with the Mini Strips - Asymmetrical die. The pumpkin is put together with the Layer It - Pumpkins die and the face is from the Jack-o-Lantern Cutting Plate die cut from black glitter cardstock. The thin frame around the card design cut from Candy Corn cardstock using the A2 Thin Fram Cutting Plate die pulls everything together.
The background on this set of tags is stenciled with the Jack-o-Lantern stencil using Sweet Potato Pie ink on Candy Corn cardstock. The tag bases are cut out using the Tags Stacklets 2, Pierced Tag Stacklets 2, and Tag Reinforcements dies. I added a jack-lantern to each tag cut out with the Layer It - Pumpkins dies with faces from the Jack-o-Lantern Cutting Plate cut from black glitter cardstock. The sentiments on the tags are from the Itty Bitty Sentiments - Halloween stamp set and I finished the tags off with a few sparkly bats cut out with the Little Bits - Bats dies. Won't these be so cute attached to Halloween treats and gifts?
Here's a look at using the Layer It - Pumpkins dies for an autumn themed card. I added a bit of shading to the die cut pieces with my blender brushes, using the same color ink as the cardstock: Pineapple, Candy Corn, Sweet Potato Pie, Pumpkin, and Avocado (for the stems).
The background on this card is done using the Fall Foliage Stamp & Stencil Combo set. I stamped the background image (stems and dots) with Chocolate Truffle ink onto Toffee cardstock and stenciled all of the leaves using Toffee ink. The neutral background lets the pumpkins stand out! I added the 'give thanks' sentiment from the Handlettered Thanksgiving stamp set and framed the design with a frame cut out using the A2 Thin Frame Cutting Plate die from Candy Corn cardstock.
I had way too much fun putting together the critters to make these fun Halloween clips and tags using the Critter Clips - Halloween die collection. The Mixed Media dies are designed to cut through a variety of mediums so you can get creative with what you create your critters with.
Here's a look at the clips that I created. There's a main body shape in the die collection and then you add the different elements to create different critters: cat, bat, pumpkin, and spider! It's fun to mix and match the felt colors to create different looks and the clips are a great non-candy treat alternative for Halloween!
I also added the felt critters to tags! The tag bases are cut out with a Tag Stacklets 3 die from Toffee cardstock that I stamped with the Spiderweb Cling & Clear Combo set using Sugar Cube ink. I added the critters, sentiments stamped at the bottom of the tags from the Full Circle - Halloween stamp set, and added twine to the top of the tags to add to Halloween treats!
