Hey, everyone! Today is a new release at Taylored Expressions and the theme is Handmade for the Holidays. I have every projects to share with you that I hope will inspire you to dress up your holiday wrapping and inspire you to create your own handmade card set to gift.
The new products for the Handmade for the Holidays release are available to purchase RIGHT NOW in the Taylored Expressions webstore!
This first project is created with the Critter Clips - Christmas die collection. I created the critters from felt (there is a special Critter Clips Holiday Felt Bundle that includes all of the colors you need!) and then added them to tags. The die collection includes a main head/body piece and then other pieces to create a penguin, reindeer, snowman, and Santa's tummy!
The tags are created with the Pierced Tags Stacklets 2 and Tag Stacklets 2 die collections cut out from Cherry Pop and Cilantro cardstock. I added stenciling to the pierced tags using the Candy Cane Stripes stencil. The sentiments at the bottom of the tags are from the new Itty Bitty Sentiments - holiday stamp set and I sprinkled Bits & Pieces - Snowflakes around the tag backgrounds.
The gable boxes are available in a set of 12 pre-cut and pre-scored die cuts (3 each of Cilantro, Cherry Pop, and Toffee). I added polka dots to the boxes with the Polka Party stencil and Sugar Cube ink. The boxes are easy to fold and assemble with a high tack adhesive tape and I tied the tags to the tops of the boxes using burlap twine. I love how the tags and boxes turned out - so cute! The boxes are perfect for small treats, gifts, and even a gift card!
Here's a look at the Critter Clips - Christmas critters used for the original idea of adding them to the tops of jumbo paper clips. These cute little clips make great gifts and/or you can use them to decorate gifts too!
**This project is featured today over on the Taylored Expressions blog along with a video showing how I created it. Make sure to check it out!
Next up are holiday tags created with the new Simple Tags products. I foiled the Foil It Simple Tags - Holiday panels (available in both Sugar Cube and Toffee cardstock) with Gold Shattered Glass Deco Foil using my Minc machine (a heat laminator will also work to foil).
The color is added to the tags with the Simple Tags - Layering Stencil set. I lined up the guides on the stencil with the guides on the panels and added color using my blender brushes with Cilantro and Cherry Pop inks.
The Simple Tags die cuts out all of the tags on a panel out at the same time with one pass through your die cut machine. Line the die up with the alignment guides, add removable tape to hold everything in place, and cut. You will love how you can create a whole bunch of tags in a short amount of time!
I did add a few extras to my tags: a bit of splattering with Chocolate Truffle liquid watercolor and Copic Opaque White ink, Cherry Pop Tiny Diamonds on the Christmas lights and berries, and burlap twine to tie the tags onto gifts.
Finally for today is the new Stamp & Give kits that make card set making quick and easy! The kit includes 6 card bases, 6 card panels, six envelopes, a glassine bag to hold sentiments, sticky strips to adhere sentiments, and a clear card box. The idea is to create card bases with an assortment of sentiments so that the card set recipient can choose which sentiment to adhere to the card for sending.
The kit I used is the Stamp & Give: Toffee Trio kit that features Toffee along with Blue Corn, Olive, and Dijon. I used the Argyle Stamp & Stencil Combo set on the Toffee card panels and added Stitched Banner Stacklets onto the panels in coordinating cardstock colors for a place to add the sentiment.
The sentiments are stamped with the new Group Text - Occasions stamp and cut out with the Group Text die. The Group Text - Occasions stamp includes 3 different sentiments and stamps 4 of each (happy birthday, thank you, and thinking of you). I stamped the sentiments in Chocolate Truffle ink, cut them out, added a foam sticky strip to the back of each one, and tucked them into the glassine bag.
I dressed up the envelopes a bit by stamping the diamond grid pattern from the Argyle Stamp & Stencil Combo set across the bottom with Sugar Cube ink.
I put everything into the clear card box and added a wrap around it with a strip of Blue Corn cardstock along with a tag made with Stitched Banner Stacklets dies, stamped with a sentiment from the Itty Bitty Sentiments stamp set, and tied onto the box with burlap twine.
