taylored expressions - easy strips & te exclusives
January 18, 2022
Hey, everyone! There's a new release at Taylored Expressions! This release includes TE Exclusives that were originally available with a qualifying purchase and the new Easy Strips dies that were originally available to purchase at our fall Stamp Joy 2021 event. I have several projects to share today that were created with products from the release!
The new products for the release are available to purchase RIGHT NOW in the Taylored Expressions webstore!
This first card is created with the Flourishing Frame die and Easy Strips - 1/2" die. For the background of the card, I cut the Easy Strips - 1/2" die from cardstock that was painted with white acrylic paint and stamped with the Wood Plank Background stamp using Toffee ink. Once the strips were cut out, I also added shading around the edges with Toffee ink. The background is pieced together on a Toffee card base to look like a wood plank floor or wall.
The Flourishing Frame die is cut out from Sugar Cube cardstock and I added color to the leaves with Avocado ink using a blender brush. I discovered the one of the frames cut out with the A2 Thin Frame Cutting Plate die matches the rectangular frame on the Flourishing Frame die and added that frame cut from Sugar Cube cardstock over the top. It gave the frame design a clean and polished look!
Inside the frame opening, I stamped the 'love always' sentiment from the Sweet Sentiments stamp set and added Bits & Pieces - Iridescent Rhinestones for sparkle both around the sentiment and around the leaves on the frame.
Supplies:
This card is created with the Bold Branches stamp set and new coordinating dies. I cut out the branches from Avocado cardstock several times and used a blender brush to add shading to the pieces before stamping them with the branch images in Oreo ink. The branches are splattered with Copic opaque white ink and Chocolate Truffle liquid watercolor. I arranged the branches around the edges of a piece of Toffee cardstock. Some branches are adhered directly to the cardstock and others are adhered with foam adhesive to pop them up a bit. Everything is trimmed even with the edges of the Toffee cardstock piece.
I had extra strips left over from the project above and pieced them on a small rectangle of cardstock to stamp the sentiment onto. I cut out the rectangle with the smallest Stitched Rectangle Stacklets die and stamped the 'love you' sentiment from the Bold Branches set onto it with Oreo ink. The sentiment is added to the center of the card with foam adhesive and I added a few white hearts next to the sentiment from the Bits & Pieces - Hearts pack.
**This project will be featured on Thursday (1/20/22) over on the Taylored Expressions blog along with a video showing how I created it. Make sure to stop by there later to week to check it out!
Supplies:
This last project features the new Easy Strips - 1/2" and Easy Strips - 1/8" dies. The background is created with 1/2" strips cut from Sea Salt cardstock and 1/8" strips cut from Sugar Cube Cardstock in an alternating diagonal pattern. I cut more strips using the Easy Strips 1/2" die from Toffee cardstock stamped with the Wood Plank Background stamp like I did for the first card that I shared above. This time I pieced them and cut a heart with the largest Heart Stacklets die.
I added the 'love you' sentiment from the Tag Team - Valentine stamp set to a smaller heart cut out with a Hearts Stacklets die, nestled it next to the larger heart, and tucked a few leaves behind it that I trimmed from a Flourishing Frame die cut and colored with Avocado ink. The heart is added to the striped background and I framed the design with a A2 Thin Frame Cutting Plate die cut from Toffee cardstock. A few Bits & Pieces - Iridescent Rhinestones finish the card.
