taylored expressions - valentine release

Hey, everyone! It's time for the Valentine release at Taylored Expressions! I have lots of projects to share today that were created with the new Valentine release goodies, including the new Donut Days products that I designed. There is an exclusive class that you can get access to free by purchasing the Donut Days collection. There are more details about the class at the end of this post.

This first set of cards was created with the newest addition to the Create-in-Quads collection: the Create-in-Quads Hearts Layering Stencil set. You can stencil 4 A2 card panels at one time with the Create-in-Quads sets and this set features four different heart patterns. I stenciled the first three stencil layers with Cherry Pop, Mulled Wine, and Sugar Cube ink onto Toffee cardstock and then did the last layer with Happy Medium - Gold Glitter to add sparkle.
Once the Happy Medium - Gold Glitter was dry, I cut the panels apart and added them to Sugar Cube card bases.
To add to the gold theme, I added sentiments embossed in gold on Mulled Wine cardstock from the new Love & Hugs stamp set that are cut out with the coordinating dies. There are gold foil cardstock hearts added around the sentiments as well as a few Bits & Pieces - Gold Drip Drops.

Next up is a set of Valentine tags created with the new Stitched with Love Cutting Plate along with a few Valentine products from past releases. I ran the cutting plate through my die cut machine with Cherry Pop cardstock and then cut out the top tag layer using the Pierced Tag Stacklets 2 die collection. The tag base is cut out from Pink Champagne Cardstock using the Tag Stacklets 2 die collection and I added a reinforcement to the top of the tag cut out with the Tag Reinforcement die collection.
The hearts are cut out using the Hearts a Plenty dies from Pink Champagne and red glitter cardstock. I added them to the tags using foam tape to pop them up a bit and then stamped sentiments at the bottom of the tags from the All Tucked In - Valentine stamp set.
These tags are all set to add to Valentine treats!

The new Gus & Gertie - Best Buds stamp set is just adorable and even though this card isn't all Valentine colors or filled with hearts, it still is perfect to give to a special person in your life for Valentine's Day - and of course would work for other occasions throughout the year too! I stamped Gus & Gertie on the moon onto Sugar Cube cardstock and colored the image with Copic markers. I added a few dots to the moon with my colorless blender.
To create the circle that I set the image into, I used the Masking Stencils - Circle set and blended colors to look like a night sky: Cookie Monster in the center, then Blue Raspberry, and finally Blue Corn around the edges. I added splatters with Copic opaque white ink and liquid watercolor in Blue Corn and Oreo. Instead of using the stars from the stamped image, I added a few wooden stars (these were a part of the TE Advent Calendar!) for Gus & Gertie to gaze at.
The background on the card is stamped with the Linen Background stamp for a bit of extra texture and framed with a thin frame cut out with the A2 Thin Frame Cutting Plate die. I stamped the 'you are my moon & stars' sentiment underneath the circle using Oreo ink.

Finally for today is this card and tag set that I created with the new Donut Days Cling & Clear Combo, stencil, and coordinating die that I designed! The set features a donut background that you can add color, sprinkles, and other details to with the clear stamps in the set. You can leave the donuts together for a background and add sprinkles between them with the coordinating stencil. You can also cut out the donut to use them individually with the coordinating die.
The sentiments on my project are from the new Mini Strips - Donut Worry stamp. There are 10 sentiments that coordinate with the Donut Days set and many of the other sentiments will work with projects that feature other sweet treats too. You can cut out the sentiments with the Mini Strips or Mini Strips - Asymmetrical dies.
