taylored expressions - new stencils!

Hnichols-stencils-TE

Hey, everyone! There's a new stencil and stencil storage release at Taylored Expressions and I am excited to share a few projects created with the new stencils with you! Instead of grabbing my blender brushes and inks, I pulled out my Gel Printing Kit to create with the new stencils and had a great time creating backgrounds for the cards I am sharing today - plus I have a pile of prints to use on future projects!

The new products that I am sharing today are available to purchase RIGHT NOW in the Taylored Expressions webstore!

Hnichols-prism-1-TE

This first mini slim sized card features the new Mini Slim Prism stencil. I laid down a teal color paint that I mixed up onto the gel press, added the stencil over the top, added blue and green paints over the stencil, removed the stencil, and pulled the print. The print is trimmed to fit on the front of a mini slim card (3.5" x 6") and added it to a top folding mini slim card.

The background is framed with a Sugar Cube cardstock frame from the Mini Slim Thin Frame Cutting Plate die, I added sentiments from the Mini Strips - Birthday stamp, and finished off the card with silver glitter cardstock stars and Bits & Pieces - Silver Drip Drops.

This next card features the new Chantilly stencil. This lacy design is so pretty and will add a touch of softness and elegance to your projects. I laid down light blue paint onto my gel press, added the stencil over the top, added darker blue and green paint over the top of the stencil, removed the stencil, and pulled the print. I cut out the print to use on my card with a Stitched Rectangle Stacklets die. If you take a closer look at the card base, you will notice that I stenciled the Chantilly stencil with Sugar Cube ink onto the card front, lining up the design so it matches up with the gel print background.

I added the sentiment to the card put together with the Signature Thanks and Signature Thanks Backer dies along with a stamped sentiment from the Big Thanks stamp set. The finishing touch is a sprinkling of Snow Flurries sequins across the card.

For this card that features the Mini Slim Twiglet stencil, I first created a background with the Mini Slim Prism stencil. I stenciled the design onto my gel press with white paint, let that dry, added light green paint over the top, and pulled the print. Then I stenciled the Mini Slim Twiglet stencil several times onto the gel press with a darker green paint and pulled the print over the top of the background. It is so much fun to play around with layering stenciled designs and paint on a gel press to see what you can create!

I cut out the print using a Stitched Mini Slim Stacklets die and layered it onto a piece of Sugar Cube Cardstock to mat it onto a Toffee cardstock mini slim sized card. The 'love you' sentiment from the Aflutter stamp set is stamped with Oreo Ink onto Toffee cardstock that I painted with white acrylic paint and stamped with the Wood Plank Background using Toffee ink. A few Bits & Pieces - Clear Drip Drops are scattered around the sentiment to finish off the card.
