poshta design - easter eggs

Hnichols-eggs-1-poshtadesign

Hey, everyone! I am so excited to share the newest stitching products that are coming soon to Poshta Design! I recently ordered some of the egg stitching dies from Lizzie to create a few Easter projects and then when Lizzie asked me if I would be interested in creating with the new Easter products, I jumped at the chance! I'll be sharing my projects over the next few days, starting with this pile of stitch eggs!

All of the new products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on Saturday, March 4th at noon Eastern Time at Poshta Design.

Spring-Fling-Color-Story-Graphic

There are a few new color stories that will be available that are perfect for spring stitched projects. All of the projects that I am sharing feature the Spring Fling color story: This palette is as charming and inviting as a tulip boutonniere pinned to a fresh seersucker suit. The fresh pinks and orange are such a lively contrast to the soft blue and dazzling green. The Spring Fling Color Story includes Clementine, *new* Gecko, Sea Spray, *new* Taffy, and Satin Slipper felt.

Here's a closer look at the stitched eggs that I created:

This first stitched egg features the sweetest tulip. All of the eggs that I created are first cut out with the Basic Egg die . Then on this egg, I used the new Banded Egg Details die collection to add the details. The band is cut from Taffy felt, the scallop detail is cut out from Tundra felt, and the tulip is cut out from Satin Slipper and Gecko felt. I embroidered the egg with the coordinating embroidery floss by doing the running stitch.

This next egg features the new Embroidered Egg Details II die. The egg is cut out of Sea Spray felt and then I embroidered the details using the embroidery floss in the Spring Fling color story. For all of the projects I am sharing today, I used all 6 strands of the floss to add the stitched details. I did the running stitch on most of the design and the lazy-daisy stitch to add the flower details. I also added in a few beads for extra dimension and shine!

This egg is full of flowers and you'll learn more about the flowers in the next few days! I added them onto an egg that is cut out from the Satin Slipper felt with a band detail cut out of Tundra felt using the Banded Egg Details die collection. I cut each flower from a different color of felt and added centers using sequins and beads from the Spring Fling color story.

This last egg features a small butterfly that will also be introduced in the next few days. The butterfly is added to an egg cut out of Taffy felt that features details from the Banded Egg Details die collection. The egg band is cut out of Sea Spray felt and the scallop detail is cut out of Gecko felt. I added the butterfly with wings cut out of Satin Slipper felt and the body cut out from the new Cobblestone felt color. For the finishing touch I added beads to the ends of each antenna!

(You may have noticed the white embroidered egg in my photos and that egg is created with the previously released Embroidered Egg Details die.)

Thank you so much for joining me today! There are a few other designers sharing stitched Easter creations today and you can link up to them and learn more about the new products on the Poshta Design Blog. Thank you so much for stopping by today and I will be back again tomorrow with more crafty inspiration to share!
