taylored expressions - spring flowers & dragonflies!
April 11, 2023
Hey, everyone! There's a new release today at Taylored Expressions featuring all things flowers and a few dragonflies and butterflies too! I am excited to share a few projects with you today created with several of the new products, including with the new dragonfly products that I designed!
The products for the Spring Flowers release are available to purchase RIGHT NOW in the Taylored Expressions webstore!
First up today is a set of cards that I created with the gorgeous Create-in-Quads Ever in Bloom Layering Stencil set. I went for a purple and teal color combination mixed in with a few tried and true colors that I love to use. The flowers and leaves are blended with blender brushes on a piece of Toffee cardstock using Blue Raspberry (shaded with Tropical Punch, Macaron (shaded with Dried Fig), Sugar Cube, Avocado (shaded with Olive), and Mocha inks.
I will always be in love with how you can create 4 coordinating card backgrounds at once using the Create-in-Quads stencils and the Create-in-Quads Ever in Bloom set has topped my list of favorite designs!
All of the sentiments on my cards are from the Hello Lovely stamp set. I stamped them with Nocturne Versafine Clair ink and cut them out with the coordinating dies.
There are coordinating dies to cut out elements of each card design and also a die collection to create coordinating flowers to embellish your projects. For the card on the left, I cut out the floral spray with one of the Create-in-Quads Ever in Bloom Sprays die collection. It's popped up on a Sugar Cube background and I added a few additional flowers tucked around the main spray along with the 'Best Wishes' sentiment.
The card on the right features the frame design and I cut that out with the Create-in-Quads Frame die. I added the frame to a Sugar Cube background, added the 'thinking of you' sentiment to the center, and tucked a few flowers around the sentiment.
The card on the left features the full floral background panel. I added the 'forever grateful' sentiment to the lower right corner a tucked a few flowers around it.
The card on the right features the floral corners that are cut out using a die from the Create-in-Quads Ever in Bloom Sprays die collection. I added the corners to a Sugar Cube background, added the 'hello lovely' sentiment to the center, and tucked a few flowers around it.
Supplies:
This set of cards is created with the Dragonflies Stamp & Stencil Combo set, Dragonfly die, and Dragonfly Dreams stamp set. I designed this set of products for a class I taught last year and now they are available to purchase. If you attended the Stamp Joy event last fall (October 2022) it was available to purchase then as well.
I stamped the dragonfly bodies with Sugar Cube ink on Toffee cardstock and then used the coordinating stencils to add the dragonfly wings with Cookie Monster (shaded with Tropical Punch) and Macaron (shaded with Dried Fig) inks.
I created a few dragonflies embossed in white on vellum using stamps for the body and wings from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set. I added these dragonflies to the background over the top of other dragonflies of the same size. I adhered just the body part so that I could fold the wings up for dimension.
The sentiments from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set are stamped with Nocturne Versafine Clair ink onto the backgrounds. I framed the background with a frame cut from Sugar Cube cardstock using the A2 Thin Frame Cutting Plate and for a finishing touch I sprinkled a few Bits & pieces - Drip Drops around the vellum dragonflies.
