taylored expressions - holiday release!
September 26, 2023
Hey, everyone! It's time for the Holiday release at Taylored Expressions! It's the biggest release of the year with over 40 products and I have quite a few projects to share with you, including several projects created with my new Peaceful Dove Stamp & Stencil Combo set and coordinating die!
The products for the Holiday release are available to purchase RIGHT NOW in the Taylored Expressions webstore!
The Peaceful Dove Stamp & Stencil Combo set includes a red rubber background stamp fearing a dove surround by a leafy design. You can add a design to the dove using the 3 layering stencils. The Peaceful Dove die does not cut out the dove in the stamped background design, instead the dove coordinates and can be used with both the stamped image and stencils. There are impressed details in the die cut that add detail and texture to the dove and they are designed to work with the stenciled design.
For this first card, I stamped the image using Toffee ink onto Sugar Cube cardstock and then added the design to the dove using the stencils. The design is stenciled with Avocado (shaded with Olive), Cherry Pop (shaded with Mulled Wine), and Honey inks. On the last layer done with the Honey ink, I left the stencil in place and added a layer of Happy Medium - Gold Glitter over the top to add a touch of sparkle.
Sentiments on all of the cards and tags are done using a Foil It - Merriest Christmas panel. I cut out the sentiments with the coordinating dies and foiled the panel with Gold Deco Foil using my Mini Minc and Magic Foil Shim. I splattered all of the backgrounds with Chocolate Truffle liquid watercolor and Dr. Ph. Martin's Bleed Proof White ink. The finishing touch on all of the cards is Gold Glitter Drops scattered across the designs.
For this card, I stamped the background with Toffee ink on Toffee cardstock for a tone on tone look and then stenciled the design onto a Sugar Cube Peaceful Dove die cut. The dove is added over the stamped design with foam adhesive to pop it up.
On this last card, I stamped the background with Olive ink on Olive Cardstock and then added the Peaceful Dove die cut over the design. There isn't any stenciling on this die cut, but all of the impressed details add just the right amount of detail and texture.
I also used the die cut to create coordinating tags. I did add a few extra die cut layers to make them a bit more sturdy along with an eyelet and burlap twine. These are going to be beautiful on holiday packages and would even look lovely as Christmas tree ornaments!
*I will have a video on the Taylored Expressions blog tomorrow (9/27/23) featuring these projects - make sure to stop by and check it out!*
Supplies:
There are so many fun options with the new Create-in-Quads Deck the Halls Layering Stencil set. I used the stencils with coordinating Foil It - Deck the Halls panels. I foiled the panels using Gold Deco Foil with my Mini Minc and Foil Magic Shim and then added color using the stencils and my blender brushes. The ink colors I used are: Avocado (shaded with Olive), Cherry Pop (shaded with Mulled Wine), Jalapeño, and Honey. I cut down each of the panels to add them to Toffee card bases along with Jalapeño scalloped strips that I trimmed from the largest Frame in Frame 2 die cut.
The sentiments are from the Foil It - Jingle All the Way panels that are foiled with Gold Deco Foil and cut out with the coordinating dies. I added even more shimmer and shine to the cards with gold stars cut out from gold glitter cardstock scattered around the sentiments.
Supplies:
This last set of cards is created with the Baking Spirits Bright stamp set + coordinating dies. I embossed the cookie frosting designs onto Toffee, Cherry Pop, and Jalapeño cardstock with white embossing powder and cut them out with the smaller, coordinating dies. For the designs on the red and green cardstock colors, I cut out the larger coordinating dies from Toffee cardstock and layered them together to create a frosted cookie look.
The 'season's sweetings' sentiment from the Season's Sweetings stamp set is embossed in white on Toffee cardstock and cut out with the coordinating die. I added the sentiment to the center of a Toffee background stamped with the Knock on Wood Background stamp and arranged the cookies all around it.
To finish off the card, I added Bits & Pieces - Holiday Sprinkles scattered around the cookies.
