Hey, everyone! Today we are sharing Halloween treats inspiration at Taylored Expressions featuring products from both the Halloween release this past August and previously released favorites. I have projects to share with you today that I created with my If You Dare collection that debuted this year along with a few other products!
The supplies that I used for my Halloween treats projects are available in the Taylored Expressions webstore!
When I originally created projects with the If You Dare collection, I had lots of leftover potion bottles that I saved for another project and this was a perfect one to use them for! I pulled out the Tag Treat Wrap die collection to hold Halloween treats and also created a few extra tags to tie onto other spooky Halloween gifts.
The tags are cut out of Black Licorice cardstock and I stamped the Spiderweb background on them with Sugar Cube ink and splattered them with Dr. Ph. Martin's Bleed Proof White ink. The 'boo' is cut out with the Boo Script + Backer die collection from Sugar Cube cardstock for the word and the backer from vellum. I added 'bubbles' to the potion bottles with Bits & Pieces - Cosmic Drip Drops and Bits & Pieces - Drip Drops.
I cut out spiders using the Little Bits - Spiders die from Black Licorice cardstock that had a sticky sheet layered on top. Once the spiders were cut out, I pulled off the release paper and dipped the spiders into black glitter. Another option would be to cut out the spiders from black glitter cardstock, but since I didn't have any I used the supplies that I had to achieve the same look! I added the spiders onto the web part of the 'boo' word for a finishing touch on the tags.
The treat wraps are cut out from Plum Punch, Sweet Potato Pie, and Kiwi cardstock and I tied the tags onto them using burlap twine.
For another treat wrap option, I used the Potion Bottle Die & Clear Combo set and used the same idea as how the Tag Treat Wrap works, just adapting it to work with the potion bottles.
Here's a quick look at what I did: I created a base for the treat wrap by cutting a piece of cardstock 1 3/8" (the width of the potion bottle bottom) x 1 1/2". Along the 1 3/8" edges, I added a score line 1/4" in from each edge and then clipped the corners like shown in the photo. I adhered the scored flaps to the bottom edges of 2 solid potion bottle die cuts using a high tack tape. Then I cut out 2 of the side pieces that are included in the Tag Treat Wrap die collection and adhered one to each side and bottom with high tack tape to form the container.
Once the container was assembled, I added a potion bottle frame piece that was backed with window acetate to one side of the treat container with foam sticky strips to form a shaker, filling it with Bits & Pieces - Cosmic Drip Drops, Bits & Pieces - Drip Drops, and Bits & Pieces - Halloween Stars & Sparkles.
The cork is cut from Toffee cardstock, and I added a small tag that is cut out using the smallest die from the Pennant Stacklets die collection. The tags are cut out from Black Licorice cardstock that is stamped with the Spiderweb stamp like on the tags that I shared above in the first project. The sentiments on the tags are created with the Exclamation Points Die & Clear Combo set and they are stamped with Nocturne Versafine Clair ink on Sugar Cube cardstock. I tied the tags onto the necks of the potion bottles with burlap twine and added a few black glittered spiders for a finishing touch.
For a limited time, you can now purchase the Haunted Mansion Cutting Plate die that was originally a gift with purchase during our Halloween release. If you want to get one, don't delay as there are only available while supplies last!
