taylored expressions - happy sweet 16!

Hey, everyone! It's release day at Taylored Expressions and we are celebrating 16 years! There's a whole bunch of birthday goodness in the release to day and I have lots of projects to share!

This pair of mini slim cards feature the new Fan Favorite Layering Stencil set and the coordinating Fan Favorite 3D Embossing Folder. The stencil set includes 6 layers and I stenciled the fan design onto Toffee cardstock using Guava, Cherry Pop, Cookie Monster, Sour Gummy, Blue Raspberry, and Sugar Cube inks. Once I had the design complete, I added splatters with Dr. Ph. Martin's Bleed Proof White ink and Chocolate Truffle liquid watercolor and then I embossed the stenciled design using the 3D embossing folder. The texture and dimension added is pretty amazing!

Then, I cut the stenciled piece down with my paper trimmer down into two panels: 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" and 2 1/2" x 5 1/2". Poblano Pepper cardstock cut out using the Mini Slim Layer Stacklets die collection is layered behind the panels and added to Sugar Cube mini slim card bases. The sentiments are from the new Fantastic Birthday stamp set. I embossed them with gold sparkle embossing powder, cut them out with the coordinating dies, and added them to the cards with foam adhesive. The final touch is glitter drops in red, teal, and gold added to the round fan centers and Bits & Pieces - Glossy White Rhinestones scattered between the fans.

This birthday card features the exclusive freebie for this release (more information on how you can get it at the bottom of this post!) The Icing on the Cake exclusive Stamp, Die, & 3D Embossing Folder Combo creates this fun, dimensional cake design. I cut out the cake using the die from Sugar Cube cardstock, embossed it using the 3D embossing folder, and then added the stamped words in multiple ink colors: Guava, Cherry Pop, Blue Raspberry, and Sour Gummy. 

The candles to the top of the cake are stenciled using the Triple Slim - Celebrate Layering Stencil set, cut out with the coordinating die, and then I added an orange glitter drop to the base of each candle flame. Adding candles made the cake a bit too tall for an A2 card, and so I added it to a mini slim card. It's added to a Blue Raspberry panel that I cut out with the Mini Slim Layer Stacklets die collection and framed using a die cut from the Mini Slim Thin Frame Cutting Plate die. Bits & Pieces - Glossy White Rhinestones are added to the dollops of frosting on the cake for a touch of sparkle and shine.

Finally for today, is a pair of cards created with the new Create-In-Quads - Celebrate in Style Layering Stencil set - these are 2 of the designs that the stencil creates! I stenciled the designs using Guava, Cherry Pop, Blue Raspberry, and Sour Gummy inks. On the layer that I did with Cherry Pop ink, I also added a layer of Happy Medium - Gold Glitter. The backgrounds and Blue Raspberry cardstock panels are cutout with the A2 Layer Stacklets die collection and added to Toffee card bases.

For extra dimension, I cut out balloons for each card using the Create-In-Quads - Celebrate in Style Balloon Bash die collection. For the card on the left, the balloon is cut out from Guava cardstock and I added the die cut tassel down from the balloon - it's so fun to put together and looks so cool! For the card on the right, I cut out balloons from Guava and Sour Gummy cardstock, layered them on top of the matching balloons in the stenciled background, and added strings that are cut out with the Balloon Strings die collection. The sentiments are from the Fantastic Birthday stamp set, embossed with gold sparkle embossing powder, and cut out with the coordinating dies. A few stars cut out from gold glitter cardstock using the Little Bits - Stars die completes the fun and sparkly look.
